Our Journey

Women Peace Café is an innovative and pioneering initiative by Centre for Peace and Justice of Brac University to engage young female students in promotion of peace and cohesion in the society at Begum Rokeya University Rangpur. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Begum Rokeya University launched the café on 10th March 2019 under Empowered Women, Peaceful Communities Project implemented by CPJ BracU with support from UN Women Bangladesh. WPC primarily targeted for 161 female students who received a 3-day training on Peace, Social Cohesion and Women Entrepreneurship, later it has been opened for both male and female students of the university.

Awareness Raising

Creating awareness to prevent gender based violence, abuse & bullying through social media campaign, celebrating national & international days and spreading peace message

Skills Development

Enhancing capacity of female students to promote a just, peaceful and inclusive society through organizing seminar, workshop and training

Networking

Connecting the WPC members with likeminded local, national and international organization for amplifying the WPC activities

Leadership Development

Developing women leadership through nurturing social business idea and implementing female student led initiative.

Membership

Any female students, belonging to Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur with valid students identification will be eligible to become a member of the club on being recommended by 2 (two) existing members and approved by the “Executive Committee”

Women Peace Cafe, BRUR is an initiative of young female students to ensure Women empowerment in our society. It is a pioneering platform of women entrepreneurs to emplement the innovative idea’s by female students to establish a peaceful society. He hopes and believes that this initiative will be helpful for the Women of northern region specially the female students of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur to go for the long run and make their contribution throughout the country.
